Winter flora are the final vestige of winter. Camellias have always been my favorite flower. I married in the heat of summer, so my bouquet was made of silk camellias.

But the pear blossoms and daffodils will have their day. Move over, they say. They’re not my favorite flowers. Nor is spring my favorite season.

Spring is the out-of-doors season, and I prefer the cocoon of winter. But even this introvert can’t resist the allure of the bird songs and the smell of the blossoms forever.

I’ll greet the new season, even if reluctantly at first – just like the camellias.
