While lollygagging on the porch the other day, what should my eyes behold but a hungry heron on the hunt!

I crept closer to the water’s edge to get a better look. I lost sight of him when he ducked behind the slope of the bank to better grasp his prey. Moving as quietly as possible in his direction, I wasn’t quiet enough – he took flight and landed on the farther shore to finish his meal in peace.

Such a spectacle makes me hungry for bass. It just might be time for Norm to grab his fishing pole. Heck, I might just join him!
