Silver Trees of Champagne

Said the poet Robert Frost, “Nothing gold can stay.”  But some autumn hues are not shades of gold at all. Sadly, silver, too, will fade as the seasons change.

But one need not feel melancholy during the twilight seaon. There is still time to breathe in the silver of autumn before it, too, fades like the gold of times passed.

Silver trees reveal a certain aplomb with the approach of winter. Wouldn’t you feel confident if you glimmered thus in the oblique autumn light? You do, you know.

No need to sink to grief.

No need to hang on to gold when you have silver. Though the seasons may change, the trees will always keep you warm and light of spirit if you let them. They understand that all that glitters is not gold.

“Nothing gold can stay.” But silver is ok.
