There is nothing quite like the beauty of a bayou – that slow-moving, almost stagnant body of water where unseen life teems beneath its murky surface.
I recently spent a serene afternoon at Bayou Liberty in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana and was not at all surprised by the calm that landed on my shoulders.
Whether I looked up…
…everything was beautiful, no matter if it was man-made and worn out…
…and the Spanish moss swayed to the silent music in the air.
There is nothing more to say about this perfect day.
Thanks for visiting. I’ve lived in the area for 30+ years and never tire of the views! Here are more pictures : http://www.angelfire.com/la3/judyb/bayoupix.html
Wow – beautiful pictures, Judy (and some sad ones, too). Thanks for stopping by! ❤
Very poetic! Everything is so green and lush! I love the rusty building over the water….a boat house? I can almost picture myself there, listening to the breeze, hearing the water ripple against the boats….Beautiful! xx
Yes, it is an abandoned boat house. It was a quiet day – I loved it! ❤
Amen. Beautiful pictures and commentary.
🙂
