Norm is a chocoholic. So he needs chocolate whenever he’s under the weather. Like, for instance, after a root canal. Brownies to the rescue.
Yield: 2 dozen
Ingredients:
- 1 stick of butter
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup flour
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8″ pan.
Melt the stick of butter over a medium-low heat. Add the cocoa and stir until blended with the butter.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove from heat.
Add the sugar and stir until blended.
Mix in the eggs and vanilla on a low speed.
Add the flour a little at a time and mix. Too much at one time and it will fly everywhere. I know this from experience.
Now you have brownie batter. I would eat it just like this if I weren’t afraid of salmonella.
Pour the batter into the buttered pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for half an hour. Eat and enjoy.
Nothing like warm brownies on a cold winter day after a root canal. You can add nuts before pouring the batter into the pan if that is your predilection. But I wouldn’t recommend them if you’ve just had a root canal.
I had to take a bite while they were still warm. Don’t tell Norm!
