When Grief stole into my world, one tool I used to snatch my joy from the jaws of despair was to create.
Perhaps Lawson was born when he was born for a reason. Not to replace another life, but to give direction to a life struggling in the face of loss.
What is life, after all, except one remarkable creation after another?
The pattern is “Snowy Dog” in the August/September 2013 issue of Crochet magazine.
I understand. New life does not replace, but it gives new purpose. In the year since my Dad passed away, 5 new babies have been born. I don’t need to tell you what a wonderful gift that has been to our family. I’ve been crocheting, too. Baby blankets. 🙂
Crochet is good for the healing soul. ❤
Girl, we need a visit! And Lawson is a joy to hold and behold. You need to hold HIM! ❤
One day I will. ❤
Dearest Stacy,
What a lovely dog you crocheted and yes, it works like therapy for the soul…
A big hug for you!
Mariette
Grief seems to sneak up on you, but you’ve got to be ready. ❤
