As I was driving home yesterday afternoon, I saw the strangest sight – white, fluffy down descending from the sky. Yes, my friends, it was snow. Snow.
Every year I dream of snow, hope for snow. It happens so rarely here, and when it does, it brings unmitigated joy. Exhilaration. Magic.
snowfall
Snow says,
Calm down.
Slow down.
Be still.
Breathe
In and out.
Shhhhhhh.
Snow
blankets
the earth.
Covers
Imperfections,
Blemishes.
Gives one
Nirvana
On earth
For a moment.
Shhhhhhh.

Lovely words today, Stacey xo Karen
Thank you, Karen. ❤
I like your snow. Just enough to say it snowed, It is snowing and blowing here, and is freezing cold. Enjoy your ‘winter’. 🙂
Thanks, Bonnie. We use the term “winter” very loosely here – usually. For some reason Old Man Winter has decided to visit the South this year. ❤
A beautiful poem. And how very exciting! On Thursday it was sleeting/snowing here in Glasgow, but not sticking. There was snow on the hills, though. Today, back to rain, rain, rain and the hills are brown again. I’m so happy you got snow. It is magical.
Funny, but I would have thought that Scotland was covered in white all winter, Christine. Here, it’s usually rain, rain, rain, but it has been a very unusual sort of winter this year. ❤
Stacy, didn’t you ask for some snow from some of us northern bloggers? And you’re SURPRISED when we send you some? *grin*
And I am every grateful for the kindness of Yoopers! (Am I using that term correctly, Kathy?) ❤
You are indeed!
Dearest Stacy,
Your photos made me kind of shiver… We have not seen snow in a couple of years but who knows? One always has to be quick for capturing it on camera as it never lasts longer than a couple of hours.
Enjoy your weekend; with or without snow flurries.
Hugs,
Mariette
It only lasted one day, but I’ll take it! ❤
Peaceful and meditative thoughts. Slow down. Relax . Be. I love that those magical flakes graced your world! Stay warm…and be present my friend
.
Thanks for visiting, Kathy – I will try to heed your advice (so hard for me, but I will try to be present). ❤
Sharing your happiness at seeing the snow fall on the bayou Stacy. It’s magical! (Can you imagine the excitement I would feel if it fell at my home in the sub-tropics? 😉 ) ❤
Yes, Joanne, somehow I can imagine that excitement! ❤
Nice to see it through your eyes.
(I’ve had enough for this winter. But I doubt it’s done with us yet…)
Beautiful thoughts, cute leopard print snow/rain shoes. ^_^
Merci beaucoup, FairyTale. ❤
