Granddaughter allowed me the time recently to knit her this poncho, just in time for our first cold front. She is very opinionated about her wardrobe, but I need not have feared her disapproval. She donned it with aplomb and bolted outside to jump in leaf piles. Her smile is the only thanks I need.

I made the smallest size in aran, so adjust yarn and needles according to the pattern if needed.

Pattern: Basic Children’s Poncho by Shaina Bilow http://www.shainabilow.com

Yarn: Novita 7 Brothers, Color Christmas Eve, 2 skeins

Accoutrements: US 6 (4mm) 16″ circular needles, 2 stitch markers, tapestry needle, 3 appliqué flowers (I added these to appeal to a fastidious toddler.)

Yes, Minnie Mouse shoes, camouflage socks, Elsa skirt, Halloween leggings, unicorn sweatshirt, and a multicolored wool poncho. There is no greater love I have than the love for my precious gamine.
