Happy Thanksgiving, Gentle Reader. Today, between the hullabaloo of feast preparations and the lull.of the aftermath, I have taken a seat at the dining room table to give thanks for the many blessings in my life, not the least of which is my precious granddaughter.
Another child will be entering the world early next year, and her name is Olive. She is an angel who has been entrusted to my dear friend’s family, so I got my fingers moving once again (after the neverending Christmas stocking), and crocheted a blanket for this dear child.
My prayer for you, Dear Olive, is that your entrance into this world be swift and without peril, and that your life’s journey be fraught with joy.

Following are the details for the blanket. Tip: Sign your work! I always attached a custom label, and I have done so since Granddaughter’s birth. (Though hers are unique – only gifts for her have her special label.)
Pattern: Absolutely Gorgeous Baby Afghans, Snuggle Up, by Leisure Arts
Materials: Sport weight yarn, 1280 yards, Hook size H (5mm)
As always, I adjusted. I used 2 skeins baby weight yarn – Lion Brand Madala Bébé, color Diagon Alley, 590 yards (per skein), hook size G. I also changed the border tr cluster to dc cluster because trc are too “floppy” for a border, in my opinion. That meant that I also had to sc in the next ch space, add another dc cluster, sc in next space, repeat dc cluster around. Contact me if you need clarification.
Happy Thanksgiving, all!
Dearest Stacy,
After some adjusting, I finally managed to have your blog showing up on my side line ‘as you post!’… instead of way down at the bottom…
Agree with you about the triple crochet stitches being too open and even dangerous for getting a baby’s fingers entangled into…
Hugs,
Mariette
Hoorah! I just did the same – it’s been too long since I visited your site. XOXO

Such a sweet gift for Angel Olive as she comes onto earth. I love your prayer for her. Happy Thanksgiving, Stacy!
Happy Thanksgiving, Dear Kathy!
